The bulk of Jewish rebel forces and bandit groups were peasants, either swept up by the apocalyptic preachings of local religious leaders or just desperate due to lack of food and the burden of taxation. These peasants have picked up whatever they have to hand to throw at the invader. 
 
These models can be used for any period of ancient wargaming, making them very versatile.
