What’s on the horizon in 2026 for Northwing Miniatures?
With the end of 2025 now only hours away, I thought this would be an excellent moment to reflect on what has happened this year, and what’s on the agenda for 2026. 2025 has been a an incredibly busy year. Obviously Northwing Miniatures has been formally set up and we have started selling our long-planned Jewish Revolt against Rome miniatures. 13 figures are now available, with more in the pipeline as we’ll discuss later…I want to thank everyone who has purchased from us (well

Making my own market stalls
The main reason I started Northwing Miniatures was to make it possible for me to put on games set during one of the revolts. While some of these will be set in the countryside of ancient Judaea, naturally many would take place in cities. While buildings would be essential, I also wanted “street terrain” that models could fight over. Scatter terrain would be critical, but so would other items of street furniture such as market stalls. The histories and Biblical accounts sugges

Mordheim campaign day: The Clubhouse
Link to Clubhouse website: Tabletop Games | Clubhouse | Newcastle Upon Tyne I was recently fortunate enough to attend an all-day Mordheim campaign event down at The Clubhouse in Newcastle upon Tyne. The purpose of the event was to kick-start a three month Mordheim campaign that will be taking place at the club. Both veterans and complete novices were invited to attend. I wanted to write a little piece about my experience as it was honestly the best wargames event I have ever

A Sneak Peek into the Future of Northwing Miniatures
I’ve been speaking with Alan Marsh about the next wave of figures I’d like to produce, and I’m delighted to say he’ll be starting work on the sculpts in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, I wanted to give you a sneak preview of what’s to come by sharing some of the narrative backgrounds that inspired these new miniatures. Babatha's pouch containing her legal documents and other effects Babatha bat Shimʿon Babatha is one of the most famous (and fascinating) Jewish women of an

Designing miniatures for the Jewish Revolt against Rome
In this blog post I wanted to talk about the process I went through to design my first wave of Jewish Revolt figures for Northwing Miniatures, the first ever miniatures I’ve designed. However, I don’t want anyone to think that I am writing from a position of experience, because I am absolutely not an expert in any way ! At best I am an enthusiastic amateur. Nevertheless, I wanted to share my first experience of dipping my toe into the vast ocean that is wargames figure design
